Verify is live — check a link, QR code or phone number before you trust it

Launch · 16 October 2026

Verify is live. It is a free tool that checks whether a link, a QR code or a phone number is safe before you trust it — no account, no download, no charge.

Try it at verify.eazi.it.

Why we built it

QR codes are now stuck on car parks, menus, parcels and letters, and almost nobody can tell a real one from a sticker placed over the top of it. Short links hide where they actually go. A phone number in a text message looks exactly as legitimate as a phone number from your bank.

The advice people are given is to be careful. That is not advice, it is a shrug. We wanted something that answers the actual question: is this safe, and how do you know?

What it does

  • Scan, paste or type. Point the camera at a QR code, paste a link, or enter a phone number.
  • Follows short links. The real destination is resolved server-side and scored — so you see where it actually goes, not where it claims to.
  • Tells you what the page is. A plain-English summary of what sits at the other end.
  • Checks reputation. Google Safe Browsing plus our own scoring, as a red, amber or green verdict with a score out of 100.
  • Verified domains. Organisations can prove they own a domain with a DNS record, so genuine sites can be recognised as genuine.
  • Community votes. Users can flag what they have run into.

Green opens after a short countdown. Amber asks you to confirm. Red never opens at all.

AI describes and explains. It does not decide.

The verdict comes from checks we can account for — reputation data, domain verification, where a link really resolves to. AI is used for one job: writing the plain-English description of what a page contains. The page text is treated as untrusted, the calls are rate-limited and cached, and the feature can be switched off without affecting the result.

We think that is the right division of labour, and it is the same question we ask on client work: which part of this genuinely needs a model, and which part needs to be auditable?

Free, and staying that way

Verify is free to use with no account. Organisations that want a verified domain can register one; beyond a handful of domains there is a paid tier, and that is the only money in it.
